Your Doctor’s Immediate Care Team

Our team of physicians, nurse practitioners, medical staff, and others all have one goal: make sure our patients know how much we care about them, their families, and their wellbeing. We work every day to keep this a priority while working with a patient’s schedule, seeing them for an appointment, and following up to gain an insight into their experience with us.

Douglas Schutz, PA-C, MPAS

I am an Atlanta native who found my way down The Atlanta Highway to The University of Georgia. Upon graduating from UGA, I continued my education at The Medical University of South Carolina. While in school at MUSC, I did an emergency medicine rotation at Grady Memorial Hospital. My rotation in emergency medicine at Grady solidified my intentions to practice emergency medicine and urgent care. Graduating from PA school, I accepted a position in the MUSC emergency department.

I practiced clinically in the ER for fourteen years as a faculty member at MUSC. I also held a faculty position at Charleston Southern University, where I was one of their PA school’s founding members. While working in the ER, I always moonlighted in Urgent Care, Cardiology, and taught at The Medical University. Towards the end of my time in SC, I decided to further my education and completed a Master’s in PA studies at The University of Nebraska Medical Center. With my aging parents developing health problems, I decided to move back to Georgia. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my three children, yard work, and exploring the campgrounds around the southeast. Lastly, I am grateful to be working at YDIC, where I feel I am part of a committed staff of medical professionals serving the greater Macon community.
